Let me state that I am not trying to be mean when I post this now, but rather trying to give you a bit of sartorial knowledge.
Tip 1: Do not wear sport jerseys on days where your team is not playing:
This is an ultimate no no now days. This should go without saying, but unless you’re headed to the game, watching it with friends, or showing your fanhood wherever you may be, you should probably leave leave the jersey in the closet.
There is no less stylish look than heading to the mall, lunch, dinner, drinks, while wearing your oversized sports jersey.
Being in Buffalo, where the Bills and the Sabres are always an in-season focus, attending a game is usually a pretty regular thing for fans to do. Bills games, people are fully decked out in Bills gear, and that is the way it should be. However, a lot of people treat Sabres games a bit differently. It’s more of an organized, social experience where people like to get dressed up, have a few drinks, and maybe hit the town after. I don’t wear Sabres gear to games, but again am very okay with people that do. That being said, when the games are off-air, your jerseys should stay that way as well.
Tip 2: Don’t wear neutral sporting attire at games. For example, if you’re at a Red Sox and Yankees game, don’t roll in wearing a White Sox hat. You look like an uneducated (in sports) asshole. Guys who pull this just look like absolute bozos.
Tip 3: Don’t wear two different sporting team’s attire. Nothing like seeing the clown who wears a Lakers hat and a Celtics shirt.
