Formal Vs Non-Formal

When headed to a formal event like a wedding or any type of black tie party, it is important to know what is formal and what is not. Let’s take a quick look.

Here’s what’s not:

1. The Button Down Collar- Now days companies are trying to fancy up shirts with button down collars, but chances are you haven’t bought one of those, and in that case, a button down collar is too casual for weddings.


2. Chinos- AKA casual khakis. Not wedding material. You can wear out to dinner with a jacket and tie (or to work), but too casual to show off.

3. Rolled Sleeves- If you immediately want to downgrade your attire (by first removing your jacket), you should roll your sleeves. Otherwise, keeping sleeves the way they were intended is the classy look.
