The Most Anticipated Movies for Fall, 2012

  1. Lawless- The cast alone should sell you on this flick.  Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Shia Lebeof, Guy Pearce, Jessica Chastain, and more put together a cast to portray the style of life (for some) during the era of Prohibition.  The trailer sizzles and is sure to sell.  Lawless opens August 28th.
  2. SKYFALL- In theatres November 9th, James Bond makes another appearance to the big screen.  Though I have still not been sold on Daniel Craig as James Bond, I think I’ll give in and give this one a shot.
  3. Taken 2- I did not think this film would produce a sequel and I am still not sure if it will be the right decision.  However, it remains to be seen, and since Taken generated such a wide fan base, I am sure tickets will sell.  Movie opens October 5th.
  4. Hotel Transylvania- This computer-animated kid’s flick is sure to please crowds young and old.  Tim Burton’s newest release stars the voices of Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, and Selena Gomez and comes to theatres on September 28.
  5. Lincoln- I have been sold on Daniel Day-Lewis since I saw the 2007 film, There Will Be Blood.  With the hype of Day-Lewis playing an Abraham Lincoln character we have not seen before, Steven Spielberg as director, and impressive cast members such as Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Tommy Lee Jones supporting Day-Lewis, this is a must see.  The movie debuts on November 9th.
  6. The Master- The movie stars Philip Seymour Hoffman and Joaquin Phoenix.  Joaquin attempts to make his leap back into the film industry in this drama, but is it too late?  See for yourself as the movie releases September 14th.
  7. Won’t Back Down- In theatres September 28th, the movie stars Maggie Gyllenhaal and Viola Davis.  The plot is based on women who fight for their children’s education in a poor area.
  8. Argo- In theaters October 12, Ben Affleck stars and directs in this non-fictional, drama.  The story is based on a plot to free US workers from an Iranian hostage situation.
  9. End of Watch- Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña star in this epic cop drama about 2 loyal men who get involved with some of the dirty drug dealing tasks that come along with the job.  Airing September 21st, this drama seems to have some serious potential.

Our most anticipated is Lawless.  Stay tuned for reviews.

  1. Um Joe, you totally forgot about “Trouble With the Curve” with Clint Eastwood and Justin Timberlake. Just another sign of you not a fan of sports.
